Ben is a naturally gifted writer with an chatty, expressive style that lends itself to a range of topics.
For BBC Sport, Ben has written hundreds of sports articles. From basic interviews and match reports to comment pieces and in depth features, Ben’s work has featured prominently on the BBC Sport homepage, with his original journalism and strong eye for detail helping to bring stories to life.
Ben’s work has also been published on a range of magazine sites through the years, with blogs and specialist websites selecting his content to be published.
He also volunteers his time as a writer for sports education website Switch the Play, where he helps to turn case studies and interviews into coherent and engaging articles.
In March 2011, Ben was specially selected by Red Bull to report at their City Limits event in Belfast. Here he conducted interviews with then-F1 pilot David Coulthard and members of the public before producing content for Red Bull Racing’s website and Motorsport Magazine.
Editorially, Ben has experience at running two magazines whilst at University, namely Label, Loughborough’s equivalent of a student newspaper, and Lufbra WOW, the university’s dedicated sports magazine which Ben helped transform into the most successful publication on campus.
Ben’s clear, concise, chatty style have been transferred to radio too, where he writes scripts and bulletins for broadcast on BBC Radio 5 Live.
